Inside Candytopia Houston

Hello, Houston! I attended the Candytopia Houston VIP media preview on June 13 and had an EPIC experience. 🔥

Truthfully, I didn’t know what to expect. However, after researching Jackie Sorkin, co-founder and co-creator of Candytopia, I knew I had to go taste and see Candytopia for myself.

Sorkin, who calls herself the “Candy Queen,” began her Los Angeles-based business Hollywood Candy Girls in 2008 by creating candy art and sculptures at sugar-filled events for the likes of the Kardashians, Katy Perry, and Oprah. She went from charging $500 to cater a friend’s birthday party when she started her events business in 2008, to becoming a partner in the multi-million dollar Candytopia pop-up confectionary experience. (1)

The inspiration for Candytopia comes from Willy Wonka. Each room in the candy factory features a variety of interactive art installations and offers guests an Instagrammable photo opportunity for kids (and adults) of all ages.

As you pass from room to room, you’ll marvel at the famous works from masters like Frida Kahlo, Van Gogh, and Andy Warhol recreated with thousands of treats like gummy bears, jellybeans, and rock candy.

Although the art exhibits are not edible, there are plenty of opportunities to sample candy as you explore each room.

After experiencing Candytopia, I fully understand why the Instagrammable art installation is a big hit and selling out across the globe! The joy comes from connecting your inner child with the interactive art installations designed around sugary delights across over a dozen environments. You’ll love the colorful backdrops for photos, a “marshmallow pool along with Kraft Jet-Puffed marshmallow samples; an underwater-themed wonderland filled with fantastical candy covered sea creatures; a rainbow-filled room with flying unicorn pigs, confetti explosions galore, Trolli Twisted Sour Brite Gummy samples and sweets from the Black Forest.” (2)

Taste & See for Yourself

Taste and See Life friends, Candytopia turned me into a kid again! I giggled and squealed and danced like no one was watching. I didn’t care that my hair was messed up or that my undergarments were filled with confetti because I experienced a joyful evening with my friends.

Michelle Carr Houston Blogger visits CandytopiaI know you and your family will enjoy Candytopia too. So here a few things to know before you go.

  1. Ladies wear pants. Trying to crawl out of the marshmallow pit in a dress or skirt is a nightmare.
  2. Be careful with your phone and jewelry in the marshmallow pit. It’s best to leave the bangles at home. Have your phone on a handle or grip device to prevent it from slipping from your hands.
  3. You will get confetti in your hair, purse, and clothing. It’s part of the experience and super fun.

Candytopia-Candy-Art-ExhibitCandytopia is a limited-time pop-up at The MarqE entertainment center (7620 Katy Freeway, suite 360) so gather your besties and check it out before it’s gone!
