True Food Kitchen at The Woodlands

Hello, Houston! I recently attended the True Food Kitchen VIP soft opening to taste their anti-inflammatory eats and see their beautiful location in The Woodlands. It is located on Six Pines Drive at Market Square in a large, open concept space. The clean lines and natural finishes create an inviting, upbeat environment to socialize with friends and family over a meal.True Food Kitchen Houston Blogger

True Foods Kitchen is a health-driven, seasonal restaurant that offers a flavor-forward menu that rotates regularly. With that being said, you will always find something new on the menu that will captivate your taste buds and adhere to your fitness goals.

True Food Kitchen Dr Weil Food Guide

Also, Dr. Andrew Weil helped establish True Food Kitchen Food Guide on the Anti-Inflammatory Diet. This diet is a way of selecting and preparing foods based on science that can help people achieve and maintain optimum health over their lifetime. The Anti-Inflammatory Diet counteracts chronic inflammation which is a root cause of heart disease, many cancers, Alzheimer’s disease and more.

I found the True Food Kitchen menu selections interesting and loved the food pairings and flavors used in the entrees. I immediately came home and added a few notes to my cookbooks for ideas for healthy anti-inflammatory food swaps!

True Food Kitchen Grapefruit Thai Basil MartiniSince I was off last Friday, I started lunch with a refreshing Thai Grapefruit Martini with organic vodka, grapefruit, and Thai basil. It paired nicely with the Miso Glazed Eggplant starter and the Moroccan Chicken entree.

True Food Kitchen Miso Eggplant

The Miso Glazed Eggplant made with lentils, roasted pepper, chopped almond, truffle, tahini yogurt, and black walnut pesto is a feast for the belly and the eyes. I loved the meaty texture of the eggplant and the smokey, creaminess of the tahini yogurt. The lentils added a little crunch to balance out the dish.

True Food Kitchen Moroccan Chicken

The Moroccan Chicken with mission fig, heirloom carrots, chickpeas, olives, spinach, chermoula, and greek yogurt is a delicately flavored entree. I loved the unique flavor combinations and ingredients but for my taste, I felt like it was missing a little heat. Maybe a chili sauce on the side. The True Food Kitchen manager mentioned that clients can specify their spiciness preference when they place their order and they would accommodate the customer’s request.

True Food Kitchen Flourless Chocolate CakeOf course, no meal is complete without dessert! I highly recommend the flourless chocolate cake and cinnamon vanilla latte.

Taste & See for Yourself

True Food Kitchen offers a variety of health-conscious options for every diet including gluten-free, paleo, ketogenic, dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian and more. I really enjoyed the creative entrees, beautiful open kitchen, and outdoor patio and bar. Altogether, I loved my True Food Kitchen Woodlands experience and know you will too! To learn more, visit truefoodkitchen.com.
