Easy Homemade Apple Pie:
Recipes Every Girl Should Know

Easy Homemade Apple Pie is a classic dessert for our “Recipes Every Girl Should Know”series. I love to serve this American treat all-year long for Sunday dinners, 4th of July, and Thanksgiving. Homemade apple pie pairs well with a scope of vanilla bean ice cream, a dollop of whip cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce. Or, you can opt for a brown sugar crumble topping as I did for this recipe!

I modified this recipe from Pillsbury Perfect Apple Pie. I reduced the sugar, added lemon zest, and increase the lemon juice. The brown sugar topping enhanced the flavors of sweet and tangy Pazazz apples.

Also, you can make the filling ahead of time.  The day before baking the pie, store the peeled and sliced apples in lemon juice in the refrigerator. You can store the dry ingredients for the pie filling in an airtight container as well. You’ll love these time-saving meal preps!
