TRIBUTE at the Houstonian

[/custom_headline][text_output]Houston, get your forks ready! TRIBUTE at the Houstonian opened to the public on October 26 to celebrate the past, present, and future of Houston.

Last week, I experienced TRIBUTE’s new menu and wine pairings at the Houston Food Finders Tastemakers Dinner. Of course, I loved it and had to share the experience with you!

Tribute at the HoustonianTribute at the Houstonian is a blend of sophistication and culture featuring fine cuisine from Texas, Louisiana, and Mexico. It’s set in the heart of the Bayou City and surrounded by lush scenic grounds which makes this charming restaurant is a must for date nights, family celebrations or dinner with friends.

Tribute Houstonian Dinner PartyThe ambiance, decor, and service are first-class. A signature touch of the Houstonian, of course!

However, it’s TRIBUTE’s new menu items inspired from Texas, Louisiana, and Mexico influences that capture Houston’s diverse cultures and traditions. On the menu, you will find cabrito, chorizo, and churros!

Tribute Houstonian Wine RoomHoustonian executive chef Neal Cox and sommelier Vanessa Treviño Boyd did an outstanding job with the food and wine pairings. Here are a few of my favorite bites and sips!

Tribute Houstonian Beef TartareThe Parisa, a beef tenderloin tartare with pickled peppers and aged cheddar cheese captured the essence of Medina County Texas. With its mildly spicy and fresh flavors, the Parisa paired nicely with the Furmint Sec, Kiralyudvar, Tokaj, Hungary. This was the most delightful surprise of the evening because it was my first time to try beef tartare and an Hungarian wine.

Tribute Houstonian Oysters ChorizoThe Wood Fried Gulf Oysters with Chorizo Butter and Charred Lemon paired with the Muscadet, “Forty Ounce” by Patrick Cappiello, Loire Valley, France 2016 was a flavorful pairing. Warning, you’ll want to soak up the excess chorizo butter with your dinner rolls.

Tribute Houstonian Duck Dirty RiceThe showstopper for me was the third course, Rohan seared duck breast and confit leg, popcorn dirty rice topped with a bourbon sidecar jus. This Louisiana inspired dish paired perfectly with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Casa Madero, “Gran Reserva” from Parras Valley, Mexico. Bold and vibrant and perfectly balanced! I loved it!

Tribute Houstonian ChurrosTrust me, save room for dessert. Because the churros served with Valrhona dulce ice cream and spiced hot chocolate will win your heart and belly. Be sure to pair the Mezcal, Agave de Cortes, Reposado with your churros!

Taste and See for Yourself

I was super impressed with Tribute’s multicultural menu and wine room filled with bottles from around the globe. I can’t wait to try other entrées from the menu and enjoy a glass of Furmint Sec.

Houston Lifestyle Blogger Michelle CarrI highly recommend that you visit TRIBUTE at the Houstonian for your next dining adventure. You’ll love TRIBUTE’s cosmopolitan menu, swanky atmosphere, and modern dining concept.

Special thanks to the Houston Food Finder and Tribute for the first-class dining experience.[/text_output][share title=”Share this Post” facebook=”true” twitter=”true” google_plus=”true” email=”true” id=”” class=”” style=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]
