A few weeks ago, I discovered a genius way to display multiple links using a branded social media bio link for my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. I got the idea from Cook and Savor’s Instagram bio link. I noticed she didn’t use the Linktree link, which is popular among the blogging community. Instead, she created a landing page that displayed her logo, listed her recent posts, and aligned with her site’s branding. Most importantly, her Instagram link drove traffic directly to Cook and Savor’s site, surpassing the redirect to Linktree’s servers.
This was my main reason for creating a branded social media bio link for my Instagram account and why you should too.[/text_output][text_output]
Why Create a Branded Social Media Link?
BRANDING
Branding is the sum total of all the impressions your users have based on every interaction they have had with you, your business, and your site. That’s why you want to control the branding of your social media bio link. You want your users to have the same experience that reflects your brand when they leave Instagram.
DOWNTIME
During my course with Linktree, the Linktree link that I used in my bio went down for various reasons. Unexpectedly, the link failed due to Linktree application or server updates, Instagram and Linktree integration, or other miscellaneous issues. The third time this happened, I resorted to using tasteandseelife.com as my social media bio link. I gave up on the luxury of having multiple links for a sure thing. My site is maintained on a secure host site. So of course, a branded social media landing page was the smart thing to implement for my bio link.
CUSTOM CALL TO ACTIONS AND LOOK
On your social media landing page, you can design your own look and feel to convey your message and personal flair. Most of my blogger friends are influence marketers, entrepreneurs or small business owners. Each facet of their income diversity demands different calls to action. This way, your social media links function as a gateway to guide followers to take the next step to become clients or subscribers.
REPORTING
The best part of having a branded social media bio link is that you will be able to see where your traffic is coming from in Google Analytics. Then you can plan your marketing strategy based on the data!
Create a Branded Social Media Page
Create a Page
It’s super easy to create a branded social media landing page that’s more effective than a LinkTree link.
In WordPress, create a page (not a post) – name the URL to reflect how you want to approach social media followers. Below are some examples:
yoursitename.com/hello
yoursitename.com/wecome
yoursitename.com/click-me
yoursitename.com/instagram
yoursitename.com/ig
Keep It Simple
I liked the look of the default Linktree layout and Cook and Savor’s layout, so I made my branded social media page align with my site’s colors and added my own quirky twist that blended with the elements I liked from my two inspirations.
I chose a white background with pink outlined buttons to stand out and included subheaders to help readers navigate through my page. Be sure to check your links are working and that your page looks amazing in mobile view.
Make It Personal
I added my blog header and kept my layout pretty simple, but feel free to use this section to add a personal photo and welcome message. I also add buttons to my contact page, my services page, my subscriber page, and new blog posts. You can add links to your shopping page, portfolio, etc. Use this branded social media page as your online promo card. Mix it up and keep it fresh!
Brand Your Social Media Bio Link
Now it’s your time to fly and create your own branded social media bio link and page. I hope that this information helps you figure out how to set up your branded social media link page. A bio link page like this can help you in optimizing your Instagram traffic. It will keep your content easy to navigate, and your customers will appreciate you for it. Plus, you won’t have to worry about downtime!
