At the James Beard Foundation Blended Burger Preview at Kitchen 713, I learned about how blended burgers are made. It’s a 25% mushroom and 75% meat blend that make these burgers healthier, flavorful, and nutritious. I immediately tasted the difference and was inspired to create my own blended burger for the “Recipes Every Girl Should Know” series! That’s when I crafted the California Turkey Blended Burger!
I love turkey burgers but sometimes they can be bland, dry, and crumbly depending on how they are made. I knew with a blended burger, I could resolve those issues cold turkey!
Plus, the California Turkey Blended Burger is perfect summer outdoor grilling and picnics. You can make turkey blended burgers on Sunday night to heat and serve for lunch or dinner during the week. Or, make smaller patties for sliders for cocktail parties on the patio. Your family will love these easy to make, homestyle California Turkey Blended Burgers.

California Turkey Blended Burger

INGREDIENTS
- 1 pounds ground turkey 85%/15%
- 1 1/2 cup baby bella mushrooms (chopped)
- 1/4 cup red onion(chopped)
- 2 tablespoons parsley (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil
- 2 tablespoons Worchester
- 1 teaspoon HEB Steak Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon Central Market Green Ancho Chili Seasoning
- 4 slices of cheese of your choice
- 1 large tomato (sliced)
- 1 large avocado (sliced)
- 1 bottle yellow mustard
- 1 package hamburger buns
INSTRUCTIONS
- Blend mushrooms, red onion, parsley, grapeseed oil, Worchester sauce, Heb Steak Seasoning, and Central Market Green Ancho Chili Seasoning in a blender until a paste is formed.
- Combine mushroom mixture with ground turkey in a large bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 mins.
- Hand form turkey meat into 4 large patties.
- Cook patties on the grill to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
- Top patties with cheese and set aside to cool on a serving dish.
- Assemble burgers with toasted buns, tomato, avocado, and mustard.
- Serve with chips, fries or a side salad of your choice!
