This is a game changer for those who suffer from gluten sensitivity. It’s made with ancient grains including sorghum, teff, amaranth, and quinoa. It’s super thin and delicious!
This is just one of Papa John’s latest initiatives to use only quality ingredients in all of their menu items and their commitment to menu transparency.
Since October 2016, Papa John’s Pizza continues to fulfill their Clean Label promise by becoming the first national pizza delivery chain to by eliminating any ingredients that contain preservatives BHA and BHT, flavor enhancer MSG, cellulose, and partially hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, as well as artificial flavors and synthetic colors. When I heard Papa John’s created a new Gluten-Free Crust, I knew I had to try it!
Last Friday, I ordered a personal-sized Mediterranean Veggie – Roma tomatoes, onions, banana peppers, mushrooms, ripe black olives- with chicken and extra cheese pizza on Papa John’s gluten-free crust.
Papa John’s delivered my gluten-free crust pizza piping and hot on time. I quickly opened the box and took a sniff of my Mediterranean Veggie + Chicken gluten-free crust pizza. It looked beautiful and smelled delicious. Without hesitation, I sunk my teeth into a slice and savored the flavors of Papa John’s Ancient Grains Gluten-Free Crust.
Papa John’s new gluten-free crust passed my taste test! It’s rich buttery and earthy flavors brought out the zing in the banana peppers, black olives, and Roma tomatoes. The crispy flatbread texture of the gluten-free crust balanced the seven toppings nicely. I don’t know how Papa John’s gets their gluten-free crust so thin but I love it. Although I’m not sensitive to gluten, I have several friends who are. When I entertain at home or plan a work event, I use meal options that are safe for my gluten-intolerant friends.
