[/custom_headline][text_output]Ever since Truth Barbeque opened in 2015, I’ve been drooling over their artisan smoked meats on Instagram. For years, my barbeque loving friends have been raving about their Truth Barbeque experience in Brenham, Texas.
Last weekend, it was finally my turn to taste and see Truth Barbeque’s famous finger licking BBQ! My friend, Karen, and I arrived at the Texas Monthly favored barbeque joint at 10:30 am. Fans were already lined up!
Corey Taylor, Truth Barbeque’s general manager, recognized me from Instagram and said, “Hey, what took you so long to get here!” Corey knew I was there to experience the heart and soul of Truth BBQ. We chatted for a bit and Corey informed us about Truth Barbeque’s future second location in the Houston Heights.
While we waited in line for Truth Barbeque to open at 11:00 am, we took a few snaps of Truth Barbeque Pit Master Leonard Botello IV!
Hungry and with our eyes bigger than our stomachs, Karen and I ordered a beef rib, a 1/4 pound moist brisket, and a link of house-made jalapeno cheese sausage to share. We paired our smoked meats with corn pudding, mac & cheese, and coleslaw. Our trays were accented with homemade pickles, pickled red onions, and a spicy jalapeno and carrot mix. It was a lot of food and I really wanted a piece of homemade cake by Mama Botello. But, I decided to save room for CAKE until my next visit!
I can definitely see why Texas Monthly recognized Truth Barbeque as one of the best in the state! The moist brisket melts in your mouth. The beef rib is juicy and tender. And the jalapeno cheese sausage is pure magic! We loved the sides and homemade pickled veggies too.
Truth Barbeque offers Texas-sized hospitality, a fun and hip atmosphere with an eclectic decor and upbeat music, and first-class BBQ. Next time you are in Brenham, stop by Truth Barbeque for a taste of Texas heart and soul!
